Welcome to the website of Poolewe and Aultbea Free Church of Scotland.
We are a rural congregation based in the North West Highlands of Scotland. We belong to
the Free Church of Scotland. We worship jointly with the Poolewe APC congregation.
We would welcome you to any of our Sunday or Midweek meetings, or to any of the
informal activities which are listed on our weekly Notices.
To give you a flavour of how we worship, a normal Sunday worship service lasts just over
an hour and would include the congregation singing 4 Psalms led by a precentor, a Bible reading, 3 prayers, a children's talk and a sermon.
Our denomination and therefore our congregation would label itself Evangelical, Presbyterian and Reformed. We believe this is the Biblical pattern for worship. We could write a long spiel all about what we believe and how we worship, but there are others who believe the same as us and have already written excellent summaries, so if you are interested, please read some of them here and here.
If you have never been to this part of Scotland, it's worth visiting. Even on a bad day the scenery can be breathtaking. We would be glad to see you.
